Mesa is seeking a highly capable and motivated Shop Foreman to lead our millwork team in a fast-paced, creative environment. Based in Ashland City, we specialize in custom furniture and architectural millwork for Nashville’s most unique commercial spaces. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends team coordination, production scheduling, and top-tier craftsmanship.

Job Role

We have promoted our current foreman to Director of Production leaving a well oiled role in our woodshop to be filled. This position is ideal for an experienced shop leader who thrives on both the floor and in the details. The Shop Foreman plays a critical role in ensuring that our shop runs efficiently, that work is built to Mesa’s quality standards, and that our team is supported every step of the way. You’ll work closely with the production supervisor, engineers, and bench carpenters to hit deadlines, maintain standards, and keep the shop humming. With key admin staff working alongside the foreman, this role can focus specifically on the shop and finish team to ensure the Mesa product is built to our standard.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily workflow for the production team and manage build assignments
  • Coordinate closely with the Production Supervisor on scheduling and labor needs
  • Provide in-the-moment guidance to resolve build or design questions on the floor
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
  • Ensure shop tools and inventory are functional, well-maintained, and ready for use
  • Set quality and efficiency expectations, and help mentor team members as they grow

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in custom millwork or fabrication, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership role
  • Deep understanding of cabinet and millwork construction methods, materials, and shop equipment
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills
  • Able to balance hands-on production work with delegation and supervision
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to motivate and coach others
  • Proactive problem solver with a commitment to deadlines and quality
  • Willingness to flex with the shop’s needs and occasionally work overtime

Pay & Benefits

  • Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 annually, based on experience
  • Profit Sharing: Quarterly
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 10 days per year, (after 90 days).
  • Holidays: 10 paid holidays annually
  • Insurance: Mesa covers 50% of health insurance premiums; dental and vision options available

Work Schedule

  • Full-Time: M–Th: 7:00am–4:30pm; F: 7:00am–12:00pm
  • Flexible time off and scheduling accommodations available
