Tall Tales

Dec 2024

Designer: Dryden

GC: Dowdle

Scope: Banquettes, Shelving, Trim, Planters

Plants: Oasis

Picking up the pieces after the tornado that tore through Nashville, this hotel was reclaiming its perfectly poised place on Main Street in East. Our heroes at Dryden Architecture were on the job, leveraging the building’s skyline views with style.

Once Dowdle won the contract, Mesa was brought in to help realize some long-anticipated dreams. Branded “Tall Tales,” the rooftop bar has one clear goal: serve people and lead them outside to enjoy the view.

Inside, we built a curved back bar shelving unit, banquette seating, trim, and a few tables. Outside, we were tasked with constructing a western cedar labyrinth of planters and seating—designed to both meet fire codes by limiting standing capacity and create cozy, private nooks for guests to enjoy their cocktails.

Oasis completed the look, designing and filling the miles of planters with stunning greenery.
